Losing Doug so soon after Shirley has undoubtedly been an unimaginable blow for all of you. To lose two such important people in your lives in the same week is an overwhelming tragedy. However, knowing that Doug and Shirley are now together again brings a sense of peace, as I can only imagine how deeply they loved each other. Their love and partnership were evident in everything they did, from their work to the way they cared for the people around them. Their spirits will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know them.
Doug was a man of immense character and kindness. His dedication to his work and his community was truly inspiring.
